DOOPS FEVER TREE

‘Fever Tree’ is the latest cut from doops, a Reading-based indie quartet. It’s a sludgy track defined by stoner-y riffs and swampy bass, that still manages to burst into a huge, punchy chorus that takes influence from anthemic indie like Lip Filler and psych-adjacent Queens Of The Stone Age. “Set to the backdrop of Tarrantino'esque groove, it's the band's first experiment into a switch-around on instrumental duties: our bassist Luke couldn't make practise, so I covered for a rehearsal and we ended up with the 'Fever Tree' riff at the end of it,” explains vocalist and guitarist Andy Bingham of the song’s genesis. ‘Fever Tree’ is the second teaser of their upcoming EP, due for release in early 2024. -Dan Peeke
